The Landscape Istanbul Fair 2023 will take place 16-18 November 2023 at the Istanbul Fair Centre, in Turkey, a dedicated trade event for the region’s professional landscape and horticultural sector. Organised by Athena Fairs Inc., LIF 2023 occupies over 5,100 sqm of exhibit space and welcomes more than 80 market-leading suppliers of soft and hard landscaping products, making it one of the largest shows of its kind in the Eurasia/MENA region.
Supported by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, SĂĽsbir (Turkish Ornamental Plants Producers Union), PMO (Chamber of Landscape Architects) and the OMU (Chamber of Forest Engineers), LIF 2022 is not just your standard trade event but is packed with on-trend features, educational content and networking opportunities.

Athena Fairs Inc., organiser of Landscape Istanbul Fair (LIF), is reporting that the number of square metres of exhibit space booked for 2023, has already exceeded the total square metres achieved for last year’s event and with eight months of sales time still left. The numbers make for impressive reading with square metre sales up 118% and the number of signed contracts up 185% compared to the equivalent period for last year’s event.
Mustafa GĂĽltekin GĂ–KGĂśL, CEO of Athena Fairs highlights two key factors, that are driving this strong growth in stand bookings: “First, there is a high level of repeat bookings from last year’s exhibitors with 80% of those previous participants already signed up or in the process of confirming their participation, and of those companies, 34% are booking bigger stands for LIF 2023. Secondly, of those suppliers who’ve already booked their stands, 40% are new exhibitors to LIF and these first-time participants account for 28% of the total square metres contracted so far.”

“Turkey has become a major player in the global landscaping industry as its climate and location make it ideal for the production and export of a wide variety of ornamental plants and flowers.” He went on to say “Furthermore, with a single-minded focus on delivering high-quality output at affordable prices, Turkish exporters are already supplying major landscaping projects worldwide.”
Therefore, it was completely logical for GökgĂĽl, an industry veteran, to take the decision to launch LIF in TĂĽrkiye when he identified a gap in the market i.e. to offer international buyers and specifiers a one-stop sourcing opportunity for ornamental plants. As the country’s commercial hub and boasting excellent transport links and accommodation, Istanbul is the ideal strategic setting for an event focused on international horticultural trade.
