The Fondation Signature launches its sixth edition of the Art of the Garden Prize

The Fondation Signature, led by its founder Natalia Logvinova Smalto, proudly announces the sixth edition of the Art of the Garden Prize, held in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional parks and gardens that have earned the “Remarkable Garden” label, aiming to promote creativity and support exceptional talent in the art of garden design.

Uniquely, the prize highlights not only the exceptional work of garden creators but also its expanding European scope. In 2025, entries from Belgium with the “Remarkable Garden” designation further enrich the competition, fostering collaborations across an expanding European network. These remarkable gardens, whether public or private, are emblematic of human passion, ongoing care, and a commitment to preserving cultural and natural heritage for future generations.

The Fondation Signature envisions these spaces as shared treasures. By offering resources and visibility, it seeks to ensure these exceptional gardens inspire a wide audience. Gardens, especially when recognized as “remarkable,” deserve to be celebrated and shared beyond borders.

The esteemed jury for the 2025 edition includes experts from diverse disciplines such as cultural heritage, landscape architecture, and historical preservation. Notable members include Marie-Hélène Bénetière (Ministry of Culture), Thomas Fontaine (President of the Osmothèque), and Emmanuelle Héran (Chief Conservator of the Louvre Garden Collections), among others. Natalia Logvinova Smalto serves as president of the jury.

Applications are open until March 1, 2025, via the Fondation’s online form. The jury will deliberate on March 27, 2025, and the winner will receive a €10,000 prize alongside an honorary medallion. The award ceremony will take place during the “Rendez-vous aux Jardins” event, organized by the Ministry of Culture from June 6-8, 2025.

This prize not only celebrates the artistry of exceptional gardens but also underscores the importance of preserving and sharing these green masterpieces with future generations.
