For the first time, the trade show the Salon du Végétal in its 34th edition gathered in the same place the entire horticultural production and nursery’s upstream industry (breeders, propagators, seedling producers, seed producers), suppliers of inputs (fertilizers, pottery, care products, alternative methods, machinery, and equipment). The event has been punctuated by the Innovert contest, endorsed by professionals, in addition to the new Jardin Pixel gathering all the European key players of varietal selection. Finally, all professionals offering solutions for retailers were in the Plant & Retail space. The Plant & Landscaping area gathered all the exhibitors, answering the needs of green spaces units.
The Innovert® contest, supported by VAL’HOR has this year again rewarded the novelties in four categories: new plant (horticulture), new plant (nurseries), commercial plant innovation, production. For the first time, the jury awarded special prizes for products that caught their attention. Special attention was given to products that take into account environmental issues. For the 2020 edition, the Bureau Horticole Regional announced that the fair would be coming back to its roots in Angers, to take even further all the ideas that bloomed in 2019. An ambition which fits in a joint strategy to position the event as a key element for the future of the sector, working hand in hand with all the players of the ecosystem. Angers welcomes many events dedicated to the vegetal world, jointly organized with this sector of excellence, which also fits in a territorial dynamic carried by IHC 2022, worldwide congress of horticultural sciences, which will gather in 2022 in Angers, the key players of the sector among which the BHR must take its place. Joining Angers will reinforce this vegetal identity (Angers / vegetal economy; ambition and urban projects integrating plant and flowers ; an important element linked to the city’s identity). This return to Angers feels right and a partnership with the city is currently being written, all the while maintaining the discussions with VAL’HOR, the inter-branch organization, and the different professional families to welcome visitors from 8th until 10th September 2020 in Angers.
